1. Are you the type of stitcher who works on one project start to finish, or do you work several different projects at once?
I work straight through, usually to the exclusion of all other activities.
2. How do you decide which projects to begin? Need? Whim? Herd mentality?
Whim, usually to try something new or interesting. It's very hard for me to make the same thing twice.
3. What are the sorts of things that will cause you to hurl said project(s) into the corner and consign them to the pit of Hades?
I very rarely fail to complete things, largely because I choose projects that I can complete relatively quickly. For example, I don't do embroidery. The only uncompleted project I can think of off hand is the red silk trunk hose that I stuffed with horse hair. I don't remember precisely why I abandoned those, but the whole design wasn't working out really well, and I think I was just in a general period of sewing burnout.
4. Once consigned to Hades, will you ever return to the d*mned project and complete?
As I said, it's rare for me not to finish, but I can't remember ever going back and finishing something I'd started earlier. I usually get bored quickly with a finished project, let alone an unfinished one.
5. What about those projects you complete, and then decide you hate for whatever reason (doesn’t fit, don’t really like how it looks on you, etc.) How do you dispose of them?
Depending on how embarrassed I am by how I made it, I will either give it away (rare), throw it away, or reclaim what I can for another project.
6. When disposing of old costumes, do you pick off the good bits (the nice lace, the vintage buttons, etc.) to use on future projects, or does the dress move on to the great wardrobe in the sky more or less intact?
Buttons are usually the only thing I can salvage.
7. Of course imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but have you ever gone anywhere (including to various Web pages) and found a gown that looks suspiciously like one that you created?
I wish. Men's clothing is a pretty lonely place.
8. Have you ever lifted design elements from the gowns of other costumers?
Oh, probably.
9. If you could pay someone to do one hated task involved in sewing, it would be…
The only things I hate are buying fabric and trying to arrange schedules for fittings on other people, neither of which would really be helped by a minion. Most of the tedious hand work I've actually learned to enjoy. Maybe I'd pay someone to weave points and laces, but now that I have a way to do it quickly it's not so bad. :)
10. What are you working on now?
I'm gearing down the projects in preparation for the forthcoming baby, but I've got another casting project I'm tinkering with at the moment.

Oooh, do you mind sharing how to do this quickly? I need to learn to make some of my own, instead of using shoe strings.
