I finally got my camera out on Friday before we left. I didn't get a whole lot of pictures, but it's better than nothing.

Pennsic 38

I wanted to celebrate the fact that there would be two reigning queens at Pennsic this year with an interest in dance (Eridani of Trimaris and Judith of Drachenwald), so I decided to emulate Caroso's practice of writing sonnets dedicated to women of high station. I laid them out as two facing manuscript pages, written in a humanist hand with a relatively simple illuminated initial. I presented them at HRM Eridani's River of Stars ball on Monday evening.

This was, I think, the best Pennsic yet for me. I'll try to recount it as best I can before all the memories float away from me.

Where are you camping, and where else will you be findable?
I'm camping with Cynnabar this year, closer to the middle of the action than usual. I'll be in the dance tent most of the time, as usual, but I won't be as tired when I get there.

When are you arriving?

What fun things are you planning to do?
Dancing, teaching dancing, catching up with old friends, and hopefully putting faces to some of your names. :)

Okay, I've finally done the pre-Pennsic clothing inventory. I think I have my packing list mostly figured out, as well as my list of stuff to make:

So the sewing I have yet to do is:
* 5 pairs of brache (4, but that's enough)
* subligaculum
* reinforce seams on old shirts
* cut and hem toga
* raise linen doublet waistline (not necessary)
* another pair of linen hose

I think that's doable.

It's early still, but better to get things done sooner than later, right?

Things I Need To Make:

2 15c camicie
1 16c camicia
4 pairs of brache
1 unstructured giornea
1 cioppa (maybe)
2 seat cushions

I'm sure there's some other stuff I'm forgetting...

Where are you camping, and where else will you be findable?
Azami Ancien, way on the north end of the Serengeti. I won't be there much unless I'm sleeping or changing clothes, though. Mostly I'll be at the dance tent and the barn, or wandering around.
